Our PG team took on their first competition of the season at the end of October and successfully placed highly within tough categories. We are so proud of the girls' tonacity and hard work over the last 6 months. Congratulations girls!
FPA'S ANNUAL
CHOREOGRAPHIC & SONG COMPETITION 2025
Back by popular demand! FPA's annual Choreographic & Song Competition is once again returning on Saturday 6th December.
Judged by an Guest Industry pro, students will have the opportunity to create their own devised pieces. Whether that be a dance or a song, the winning piece of both categories will gain a spot in our annual February show, 'ICONIC' at the EM Forster Theatre, Tonbridge.

FPA 'THE NEXT STEPS'
WORKSHOP SERIES
Introducing Next Steps – a brand-new workshop series from FPA designed to keep young performers progressing outside of term time.

Each workshop in the series will focus on something specific – from technique, stretching, and show-stopping choreography in contrasting dance genres (for example, Jazz & Contemporary paired together), to West End musical theatre repertoire brought to us by guest teachers direct from the industry, and even acting intensives, audition technique, and deep-dive sessions into singing and vocal training.
Sessions are hosted by a member of the talented FPA teaching team alongside a guest teacher, giving students the chance to train with familiar faces while learning from fresh creative voices.
Open to all JUNIOR, INTERMEDIATE and SENIOR Whether you’re looking to try something new, build confidence, or push your training to the next level, there’s a next step waiting for you. Whether you’re an existing FPA student or joining us for the first time, we guarantee you'll have the best time!

A MESSAGE FROM OUR FOUNDER, ALISON
After 24 amazing years, our wonderful founder and principal, Alison, will be stepping down as she enters a well-deserved retirement. Here is what she had to say...

"Back in November 2001 when I first started Footsteps along with my very good friend and dance pal, Jo Walder, I could never have imagined that 24 years would pass by so quickly, with so many children passing through our doors with so much talent.
As some of you know, as well as my other two son’s Tim and Ben, that three other people in the auditorium were amongst our first students. My lovely Goddaughter Emily Walder who has been filming our shows for many years now and who has a very successful production business and has won an Oscar, for her work, and of course Chris and Katie who already do so much for the day to day running of FPA.
Well, the time has come for me to hand over the reins to them both as I take a step or two back over the following months. Katie & Chris will now be the Directors of FPA and I hope you will respect their positions because after all, they have always had everyones best interests at heart.
I will still be around as I don’t want to loose contact with the students and of course our wonderful teachers and staff members and the parents we have grown close to over the years.
So, I’d like to make a graceful exit ‘stage right’ and thank you all the students for being such a joy to be around and I hope you will all continue to support FPA in the months and years to come.
One final thing, if anyone would be willing to help with the washing of 366 costumes, please message Katie & Chris. Thank you!"

ARE THE NEW DIRECTORS OF FPA
News! Following on from Alison’s announcement last week, Chris & Katie will be stepping up as the new Directors of FPA! Katie will be taking on the role of Company Director and Chris as Creative Director.

FPA'S FIRST EVER HEAD GIRL
Congratulations to our lovely Ella, who has been chosen to become FPA's first ever Head Girl! Ella's hard work and dedication to FPA has not gone unnoticed and we are thrilled to award her this title. We are so excited to see Ella blossom into this role as we enter this new chapter of FPA.
MOVE IT! 2025
We are excited to announce that FPA's Performing Group have been selected to perform at Move It this March! We will be performing on the Discovery Stage, sponsored by Supreme Dance Competition. Move It! is the biggest dance convention in the world and so we are really honoured to have been asked.
